A new stand-up show about bad relationships, worse boundaries, and doing very dumb things. Would you fly across the planet for a crush? Ever had a "if we’re not married by the time we’re 30 let’s get married” pact? What do you do when your ex took all the sex toys with them?
This is, believe it or not, part of happeningfish’s doctoral artistic work on emotional labour, affective labour, and transgender stand-up comedy, exploring the relationships between laughter as activism, the limits of allyship, self-deprecation and survival, and what we can understand about each other. But let's be clear: it's a stand-up show with a lot of embarrassing and dirty jokes.
For over ten years happeningfish been making stand-up comedy, running shows like Punch Up! Resistance and Glitter, The Attic Underground, Feminist Comedy Night, and is part of the queer comedy crew Qoomikot.
