For Performers

Summer Park Concerts are free outdoor concerts held across the beautiful and green city of Tampere. These concerts offer diverse and high-quality music and cultural experiences for both residents and visitors.

Are you an amateur musician, choir singer, or dancer who would like to perform in Tampere’s Summer Park Concerts? Apply to become a performer! The performer application period is open annually in February. Applications are welcome from Tampere-based music groups, choirs, and dance ensembles. We encourage applications from people of all ages, genders, and those belonging to linguistic, cultural, or other minority groups. In the selection process, we also aim to represent a wide range of musical genres.

The Summer Park Concerts are produced by the City of Tampere’s Public Cultural Services, which handles marketing, Teosto (copyright) fees, and permits. Some venues also provide PA systems and sound technician’s services.

Application Process

1. Submit your application via the online form in February. For summer 2025, the application period was February 3–28, closing at 4 PM on the final day.

2. If selected, you will receive a proposed performance time and location by email in March or April. All applicants will be informed of the results by May, including those who are not offered a performance slot. Please check your spam folder regularly to ensure you don’t miss our messages. Offers will be sent from puistokonsertit@tampere.fi.

3. Accept the proposed time and location or request a new proposal according to the instructions provided.

4. Once confirmed, you will receive a performance agreement and marketing guidelines by email. If you are performing with a group, make sure to share the information and agreement details with all members.

5. On the concert day, arrive at the agreed location. Play, sing, dance!

6. After the concert, you’ll receive a reporting form asking for details such as audience size. Please complete it promptly. The performance fee will not be paid until the report is submitted.

7. Send your invoice to the city according to the separate billing instructions or obtain a tax card for compensation depending on your chosen payment method. More details on payment options are provided below.

Good to Know

For band and orchestra nights at Laikunlava Outdoor Stage and Lielahti Manor Park, sound equipment and a technician are provided (not for choir or dance evenings at Laikunlava). At other venues, performers are responsible for any sound equipment they may need. Electricity is available at all concert locations. Local partners, such as those at the allotment gardens, help with on-site arrangements and technical support.

Tampere Public Cultural Services promotes and markets the concerts, but performers are also encouraged to promote their own events. You will receive separate marketing instructions before your concert.

Unfortunately, not all applicants can be offered a performance slot, as there are typically more applicants than available times.
