“Hand in Hand” Folk Dance Around the City

Pispalan Sottiisi 2026 – a summer celebration of folk dance and folk music in Tampere on 10–14 June 2026. On Saturday 13 June 2026 from 10:00 to 11:00, the event “Hand in Hand” Folk Dance Around the City will take place.

Hand in hand, together, meeting and connecting – both in life and on the dance floor, we encounter many different partner holds, but the very first thing we learn is to stand hand in hand with a dance friend. Curated by Emma Laitinen and Sofia Timonen, the Hand in Hand programme highlights different dance holds and the power of shared presence – come along and offer your hand to a friend!

This programme brings a breeze from Central Finland, featuring six groups from Kaustinen, Siilinjärvi, Jämsä and Jyväskylä. Expect a warm and communal folk dance moment in the heart of the city, where everyone can experience the joy of dance and connection with others.
