Tampere’s summer kicks off once again as the Summer Park Concerts take over the city’s parks. The concerts begin on Monday, June 2, and continue until late August.

For nearly three months, audiences can enjoy free open-air concerts across the city, featuring a diverse and vibrant program. Dance performances will be showcased already on Ascension Day, May 29, at the Laikunlava uutdoor stage and choirs and music ensembles will start performing on Monday June 2.

This year, around 190 artists or bands applied to perform and 91 were selected. “The call for performers is primarily aimed at amateur musicians, but the level of talent is impressively high. You might discover new favourites among the performers and perhaps even future stars,” says Summer Park Concerts producer Aliisa Piirla.

Special Summer Park Concert Goes Pride will once again be held during Manse Pride Week on June 10. As part of the 100th anniversary celebrations of Culture House Laikku, the legendary orchestra Dallapé — also celebrating its 100th year — will perform at the Laikunlava outdoor stage in August. The concert programme offers experiences for fans of pop, metal, folk, electronic music—and everything in between. Concerts will take place at Amuri Museum of Historic Housing, Haihara Art Centre, Hiedanranta, Laikunlava uutdoor stage, Näsinpuiston laululava stage, Tammelantori, and in local allotment gardens. All concerts are free and open to everyone.
