Sapphic event Tampere

Are you sapphic and live in Tampere? Come hang out with like-minded people for an evening! Sapphic event at Romula's space Friday 26th June 2026, from 5 pm to 10 pm. By us for us! There's gonna be sapphic quiz and bingo, queer music and arts and crafts. Coffee, tea and maybe some baked goods will be available, BYOB. Free entry! Welcome!

Important note, the term "sapphic" does not strictly refer to "ciswoman who likes only ciswomen". You don't have to be a lesbian and/or ciswoman to attend. You can also be, for example, bisexual, pansexual, asexual, transwoman, nonbinary, gender fluid, demiwoman, transfem, transmasc etc. We honor a person's right to self-definition. TERFs are not welcome - in here or any other event hosted by Romula.

The space is unfortunately not accessible to all. ACCESSIBILITY INFORMATION:

There's a stone step in front of the front door, its measurements: height 15cm, width 90cm, depth 40cm. There's also a 5cm threshold at the door. Front door's width 84cm.

The space has one gender neutral toilet, it is located upstairs. Two doors separate it from the rest of the area. First door is 60cm wide, its threshold 2cm high. Second door is 61cm wide and doesn't have a threshold. There is an additional hand washing basin in the first room, before the toilet. Next to it, on the right, is a shelf that has a first aid kit. Toilet is overall 104cm wide, of which hand washing basin takes up 35cm. Between the front of the toilet bowl and door there's 47cm of legroom. Toilet doesn't have handrails or emergency alert system (button or string).

A curved staircase leads downstairs. There are 18 stairs in total. They are 86cm wide, 19cm high and max 25cm deep. Door to downstairs' art gallery room is 80cm wide and its threshold 5cm high.

Upstairs floor is made of laminate, downstairs floor is concrete. Floor in the toilet is tile. Both upstairs and downstairs have some carpets and we have tried to put them in places where they aren't in the way. There's a bit of an echo in the space and it's perfectly fine to use hearing protection, especially when there's music playing. There are earplugs available at the space. The space doesn't have an induction loop.

The sun shines in the space, though in the evenings lighting can be more dim. We generally don't use flickering lights but if they are used during an event, it is always mentioned beforehand. We aim to keep the space free of strong scents, please take this into account prior to arriving. Dogs and cats are welcome so we can't guarantee that the space is free of allergens.
