Come try roller derby in September at the Open skate events open to everyone! Participation costs nothing, is not binding and does not require previous skating skills or equipment.
In Open skate events you only need your own water bottle and comfortable clothes that you can wear kneepads and elbowpads with. Also, since our loaner gear might not fit you perfectly, it's good to bring a thin scarf and another pair of thicker socks.
You don't need to sign up in advance, just show up!
The first Open skate Fri 5.9. at Etelä-Hervanta school. Meeting at the main entrance at 19, from where we move indoors to talk about roller derby. Warm-up and putting the gear on at 19:30-20 and skating at 20-21.
The second Open skate Sun 14.9. at Kauppi Sports Center. Meeting at the Sports Center cafe at 17 o'clock to talk about roller derby. Warm-up and putting the gear on at 17:30-18 and skating at 18:30-19:30.
After the Open skate you are welcomed to stay and watch our practice game (scrimmage).
At our Open skate events you will hear about our league and the different ways to do roller derby, try on roller derby gear and of course skating!
