The legendary entertainment orchestra is celebrating its 100th anniversary.
As part of Culture House Laikku’s 100th anniversary celebrations, another centenarian takes the stage at Laikunlava: Dallapé!
Europe’s longest-running entertainment orchestra, Dallapé, celebrates an impressive 100 years in 2025. To mark the occasion, Juha Hostikka & the Dallapé Orchestra will perform spectacular anniversary concerts and release a brand-new album titled Go Go.
Founded in 1925, Dallapé has turned countless songs by Finnish songwriters into timeless classics and brought the international hits of their time to Finnish audiences. The giants of Finnish orchestral entertainment from Bruno Laakko and Georg Malmstén to Kauko Käyhkö and Rauno Lehtinen have all been key figures in Dallapé’s history. Not to mention Olavi Virta, who served as the orchestra’s guitarist and lead vocalist.
In 2010, Juha Hostikka, who studied singing at the Sibelius Academy and saxophone at the Pop/Jazz Conservatory in Oulunkylä, took over as the orchestra’s leader and vocalist, restoring Dallapé to its 1930s glory.
Meticulously crafted arrangements and a swinging sound are Dallapé’s trademarks. The anniversary concert will feature evergreen favorites such as Ikkunaprinsessa, Angelique, Muistan sua Elaine, Äänisen aallot and Jälleen soittaa Dallapé.
The finely tuned 11-member orchestra will present beloved schlager melodies from across its century-long journey. An unforgettable evening of swinging and nostalgic music is guaranteed!
