Moving Tampere seniors to a new level
The City of Tampere and Hakametsä Sport Campus are participating in the Tampere University Health Innovation Challenge course, where student teams are tasked with developing and offering innovative solutions for the needs of an aging society. The City of Tampere challenges students to develop solutions that improve or maintain the ability and motivation of older people to move independently in the urban environment. Developing solutions and ideas can be utilized, if possible, already now in the city, in the Hakametsä area and in the planning of the future campus. As part of the European Mobility Week 2025, students of the Health Innovation Challenge course will organize an interview event for seniors at the Hakametsä ice rink on 18.9.2025 and 9.10.2025 at 12.30-14.30. The event is aimed at seniors aged 65+.
If you wish, you can register for the event with project planner Pia Naskali (pia.naskali@tampere.fi, 040 5481294). In addition to the interviews, the program includes indoor walking, socializing and exercising according to your own wishes. The event is part of the WeGenerate project of the City of Tampere's Smart City for City Residents program, the development of Hakametsä Sport Campus, and the University of Tampere's Future Sports and Health Campus project.
