Tampere Day at the Youth Culture Centre showcases young people’s art in various forms. There will be two different art exhibitions and performances by young artists. You can also get creative yourself at the collage workshop at Galleria Vivi. The programme is free of charge!

Mini-collage workshop

Thu 1 October, 6–8 pm

For 9-28 year olds

What does home look like, feel like or sound like? Come and create your own mini-collage of home atmospheres, memories and important places. Combine images, colours and different materials to create a small piece of art that captures what home means to you.

Live music at the Gallery: José, Anttonvee

Fri 2 Oct, 6–8 pm

Open to all

José plays improvised instrumental guitar music across various genres, particularly 1970s rock and blues. Come along and have a listen if you’re interested in Hendrix, B.B. King or Clapton!

Anttonvee is a young singer-songwriter who composes and writes lyrics for Finnish-language pop music. In his music, he combines acoustic pop with elements of modern pop.

The event is alcohol-free, free of charge and open to all ages. Welcome!

Art exhibition: On the Way Home – Helmi Salminen, jasmi.elsa

The ‘On the Way Home’ exhibition explores the discovery of the familiar and the safe, even in situations and places where darkness seems to take over everything. Ultimately, rays of light reach everywhere.

Helmi Salminen is a young artist who creates new worlds and safe havens using acrylic paints, coloured pencils and poetry. Her art is imaginative, and she focuses on things that may seem small but are full of magic. This art exhibition features works from 2024–2026, although Helmi has been creating art since the age of 11.

jasmi.elsa is an amateur artist inspired by photography and videography who, in her own words, is ‘creating and learning’.

The exhibition is open Mon–Fri 9 am–8 pm. Free entry!

Art exhibition: Fur, Feathers and Petals – Peppi Backman

Peppi Backman is a 16-year-old budding artist. She has attended the Sara Hildén Art School since the age of 11 and is now in her first year of the Art and Design programme at Tammerkoski Rapids Upper Secondary School. Art and the creative process are an integral part of Backman’s daily life.

Backman has been creating art since she was very young, but she took up painting in 2018, and painting with acrylics is her thing at the moment. Peppi mainly paints animals. She draws inspiration from nature, her own imagination or by browsing images online. At home, she also has two dogs and three cats; she loves animals very much, which is why this is reflected in her art.
