About reading dogs: Reading for a dog can inspire one to read. A reading dog’s job is to listen to the reader and be present. The dog doesn’t judge or point out if the reader makes an error, is slower than others or hesitates. The dog’s presence relaxes the reader and relieves anxiety. Reading dogs work primarily in libraries. Reading dog activities are a form of Animal Assisted Activities and based on voluntariness.
