Free introductory evening at the art school Sara Hildén Academy

Come and try what studying at the art school is like! Could visual arts be a new hobby for your child or young person?

Application period for basic education in visual arts for children and young people is from May 1 to May 31, 2025.

Basic education in visual arts provides students with the skills to express themselves visually, develop imagination, and understand nuances. It also helps them see multiple solutions to problems creatively. The studies also foster both ecological and aesthetic attitudes.

The goal of the studies is to create long-term motivation and interest in the subject, which also provides a good foundation for professional studies in visual arts. The studies support the growth, self-awareness, and cultural competence of children and young people.

Through play, experimentation, and diverse activities, students' visual observation skills, thinking, expression, and interpretation abilities develop. The work seeks connections between the student's own visual cultures and other visual cultures.
