Queer Dance

Queer Dance is a dance course for queer adults aged 18-29 in Tampere. During the course, you will learn Vogue Femme, sensuality, Heels, Swing, and other key dance styles of queer culture.

The course is free for everyone and there is no separate registration. So feel free to come just as you are! The courses take place on Saturdays from 13:00 to 16:00, where we learn the basics and a bit of choreography and end it off with more free-form dancing. You can come to all the dance courses or just those that interest you.

The classes will be held on the following days:

8.11. Vogue Femme

The class will introduce you to vogue and ballroom culture. We will focus on the Vogue Femme category, learning its five elements: catwalk, duckwalk, hands performance, floor performance and spins&dips. If you wish, you can bring knee pads to the class for floor work.

15.11. Sensuality & Heels

The class will enjoy dance with a sensual tone. Its content is based on the movement language of Heels dance and the technique of dancing in heels, but you can also participate in the class without heels. The class will include exercises that emphasize sensuality and exploring your own movement, as well as calm choreography, where there is time to enjoy the music and your own body.

29.11. Let’s Swing It!

The class will introduce you to the world of social dance through swing dancing. The class focuses on the movement languages of Lindy Hop and Solo Jazz, dancing both alone and with a partner. The aim is just to enjoy dancing together in a relaxed atmosphere.
